Is that right?

uh well in in between that um we went on a holiday to england right and um you know going on a holiday to england in those days wasn't by air and you're just going for a week You actually went by ship and during that, it took you probably 20 days to get there and, of course, you're probably going to spend a few months there.

So whilst we were there, I got involved with my grandpa as such because he liked his golf.

and he used to play with the local vicar on the golf course there.

And funny enough, I never knew vicar's thwar, but this vicar, when he had a bad shot, his temper and his language was something I'm sure he would have to – if he was a Catholic, he'd have to go to confession every week, I think.

But look – Grandpa, he saw I got a bit of an interest in it and so forth and he actually invested, if you like, in a series of lessons with the local professional at his local club.

And one thing led to another and I'm not quite sure what happened but the local pro seemed to think that I had a bit of a... a gift if you like um who knows i was quite surprised at any rate but anyway um he offered me a job as a trainee uh with the british pga um there and then so for for then then for for the next few months and so forth before coming back to australia i cycled down to this golf club every day and learned my uh you know my first steps in if you like in into any profession And so that was the start of it.
