So how can we create a culture where everybody is kind of aware of kids in the church and calling them by name, that kind of thing?
9:41
Yeah, you know, I remember the adults that saw me as a child in the hall, that spoke to me, that smiled or stopped to say hello.
9:54
It's so easy in church to just connect with your friends and those closest to your interest and your age.
10:02
But Jesus showed us how to do that, how to get down to their level, to see them, The disciples obviously had a learning curve there.
10:13
But what those influencers see sometimes is something that we haven't seen yet.
10:20
I mean, it was from influencers in my church that I would hear what they thought was my spiritual gift before I knew what my spiritual gift was.
10:31
And having those opportunities, the first time I taught anything, I filled in for a sixth grade Sunday school teacher.

true.
3:57
Why is this important? Why did you write this book?
4:00
Well, this book comes out of a painful experience of ignoring the Sabbath and not practicing the self-care that Scripture teaches.
4:13
You know, Paul tells Timothy twice to pay close attention to your life.
4:19
Then he says, and your flock or and your doctrine, depending on the text.
4:23
But this is one of the commandments.
4:29
So if you're listening to this, you don't have to pray about it.
4:32
It's all good.

Here's what it's going to take to finish well by God's grace.
21:35
What do you think that we should look for as early warning signs that, hey, we are really in need of some rest?
21:45
Yeah, great question.
21:46
And honestly, you could answer this.
21:49
I'd like your opinion on it as well, if I could turn the table.
21:52
I'm not gonna avoid it, but the fact is, well, I'm just saying out of the gate, Jesus said the most important scripture, when he was asked the most important scripture, he quoted the Shema and everybody in the room knew it.
22:05
The guy that asked the question knew it.
22:07
They in fact quoted it every morning, every night, as did their parents and grandparents.

37:31
How do we take all of those things that we've talked about and really pursue a realistic, healthy rhythm of Sabbath?
21:37
What do you think that we should look for as early warning signs that, hey, we are really in need of some rest?
21:46
Yeah, great question.
21:48
And honestly, you could answer this.
21:50
I'd like your opinion on it as well, if I could turn the table.
21:53
I'm not gonna avoid it, but the fact is, well, I'm just saying out of the gate, Jesus said the most important scripture, when he was asked the most important scripture, he quoted the Shema and everybody in the room knew it.
22:07
The guy that asked the question knew it.
22:09
They in fact quoted it every morning, every night, as did their parents and grandparents.
