So do you have to remind the young players not to panic, that the season is long and you'll go through your ebbs and flows through a year? I don't think we ever remind

them.

I think it's led by danger especially.

He's just so calm and content with with everything that goes on at the footy club and, um, like win, lose or draw it, it stems from him and he's always just so constant.

So I think it creates a nice calmness throughout the playing group.

Um, and we try and set up a system where, um, we sort of teach ourselves, um, how we want to be as a player and how we want to play on field.

And, um, yeah, I think with Pat's calmness, it's sort of, um, yeah, the young boys feed off that.

Talking before about some of the younger players that have got an opportunity for Geelong this year through a variety of different reasons, have there been a couple that have surprised you with how much they've been able to bring to the

Mullen, he goes to Petraka, and also Tom Atkins, he goes straight to Matt Rowell's body and, and really got you going in that first quarter.

A big focus, they're obviously a amazing midfield, uh, the Suns boys, so um, and they touched us up that round one game.

So we needed to, um, be better around there and, and we had a few roles for, for the boys, and then we try and help as much as we can around that.

So, um, yeah, uh, Ax is, Ax is amazing.

The, you know, mid-season you are bashed up a little.

I looked down there at one stage, gee, you had a tall forward line and you bombed away early too, and, uh, they weren't catching it, but then I think the mix came through with the little fellas and you started to get a good blend.

We, we did.

And, and the, the big lads, they brought it to ground a lot to have a, help those little fellas.

So, um, yeah, we, we, we like our forward line.

We need to get in there more and, um, give them a chance.

It looked like you had a real intent to get after them around the contest, and there were some set roles from the start of the game.

Pretty important to turn it on in front of the mob.

It's quite an odd thing to say to a football club, but that's you.

Yeah, I just didn't want to play, really, being honest.

And then August, Andrew asked again, and I said, oh, okay, I'll do the trial, get you off my back a little bit.

Plus, it'd be interesting to see the club.

Geelong were going really well.

They won the flag that year.

And so I went down and did the trial.
