What, what are the trade-offs to consider? What are some of the mistakes that either maybe you've made or you've seen others made around making that decisions on who to hire and where to hire?
4:11
Yeah.
4:12
Being in this space for so long, of course we've made mistakes, made decisions, right? Years ago it was believed that mar- ops should sit in marketing, right? Marketing ops should sit in marketing because they're the closest and they're, they have direct access to the stakeholders.
4:28
And same thing with CS ops.
4:29
They sat in CS.
4:31
And then RevOps was born, and it was like we should all have it under one umbrella so that there's alignment.
4:38
And I truly believe that's the strongest way to build a operations department.

21 MINS LATER

So for all the revenue operators who are out there maybe listening to this, sitting there today, either being a part of a team, building teams themselves, what do you think the next three to five years looks like? Are there gonna be differences in how RevOps teams are structured, responsibilities or scope that they're gonna have, the size? Are they gonna have crazy numbers like one RevOps person can now support 100 people across marketing, sales, and customer success 'cause they've got all these AI agents running around that they're building and supporting and deploying? What does the future look for revenue operations over the next three to five years, which I feel like in the age of AI is, like, a lifetime, right?
