When we look at these challenges through climate lens, we have to ask why the picture is so bleak.

Despite the growing recognition of the links between climate and conflict, they are still too often treated as separate issues, with different actors, different funding streams, and different priorities.

And part of the answer here it is that it is not a coincidence, it is not a geographic accident that people living in places affected by armed conflict, violence, and instability are among the most vulnerable to climate change.

And they're vulnerable because conflict has weakened or destroyed the things that they need to cope with shocks and manage risk.

And here we are talking about roads, markets, public services, including trust, trust in institutions, as Elizabeth mentioned.

What would help this one go farther and become a genuine platform for action? W- what would make it really matter to communities that are living with conflict and climate stress?
