Why Does America Still Think Working 9 to 5 Is the Way to Make a Living?
M
40:21Michael JonasHOST
For somebody hearing that phrase for the first time, can you talk about what that means? What does decolonizing management mean?
M
40:29It means so we live in a colonized world, not just because we're in the United States, which is a colonized country, was colonized by primarily England, but also parts of us have been colonized by France and Spain and blah, blah, blah, and have other histories there.
M
40:44But we live in a world where we're sitting on stolen land right now.
M
40:51We're utilizing roads and farming systems and systems of government even that were fully stolen from African peoples when the slave trade was happening, when people were being stolen from Africa and brought to America.
M
41:06There was a special interest in people who knew how to build infrastructure.
M
41:11Which we don't talk about, of course, in school when we learn about slavery.
