When I was first asked to be the president, I know everybody keeps laughing because my first response was, "You guys are crazy.

This is outrageous that you want me to do this." And they're like, "Well, you're so good with your other business, and you're good with people, and I just think you'd be a great face of the church." And I was the one saying, "I don't know the first thing about this historical site." I like the church aspect, but I don't know the history part.

So everybody was th- I either got phone calls or board members stopped in, text messages, emails saying they have my back.

We just need to save the church, and please help us out." So I was, I was like, "How can I not help?" Right? I love Irondale.

Pell already knows where she'd like to start, and an upcoming concert will help the board get closer to being able to afford making some real changes in the church.
