Marek TesarGUEST
[audience applauding] Thank you so much, Uncle Colin, for this powerful Welcome to the Country.

Marek TesarGUEST
My name is Marek Tesar, and I'm the Dean of Education at the University of Melbourne, so thank you so much for welcoming me here, and I would like to really start by also acknowledging that we meet on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land on which this Parkville campus stands, and I pay my respects to their elders past and present and emerging, and extend the respect to all the Indigenous people that are here today.

Marek TesarGUEST
I acknowledge the importance of Indigenous knowledges and epistemologies and ontologies in the academy as a Faculty of Education, where we meet today.

Marek TesarGUEST
Tonight, we have a really distinguished panel, and that includes Professor Marcia Langton, the Associate Pro-Provost at the University of Melbourne, uh, filmmaker Rachel Perkins, CEO of Culture is Life, Belinda Duarte, and educator Bill Lewis.

Marek TesarGUEST
And all of this fabulous panel is facilitated by our own Professor Melita Hogarth, Director of NGARA Project and Associate Dean Indigenous here at the Faculty of Education.
