Can you explain a little bit how this resource, the let's play money kit kind of pairs with your books? Is it a separate resource or is it something that should be, I guess, worked through together for the child?
16:31
It's a separate resource that dovetails very well.
16:35
There's two parts that started it.
16:36
One is I was volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club.
16:38
I was going in and reading to the kids during summer camp time.
16:41
And I felt like they needed something sort of busy to do with their hands.
16:45
So I started creating little worksheets for them to color and cut and so forth.

But I would love for you to share why you especially feel that these early lessons, so again, that age range that you're servicing pre-K through sixth grade, why do these early lessons in earning, saving, and creating revenue streams, income streams, if you will, Why do they matter just as much or maybe even more than the money conversations that families are having with teens and young adults?

40:29
I feel like that's just the natural way that we s- that Taz and I speak.
40:34
It's how we speak with our friends and family.
40:35
It's how the people around us speak.
40:37
So it's like, of course if I want them to listen to my show, then talk to me nice.
40:42
And I think that it brings a little bit of a palate cleanser after such a rough episode because we do get to sit back and think that, "No, she shouldn't have done this," but also, "She was really not thinking this through." Parole or No Parole, that was actually really important to us because we know what the justice system and how the justice system treats Black women, the so-called justice system.
41:06
And they treat Black people, and especially Black and brown women, so horribly.
