How do you build a culture that embraces change and also ensures that it thrives going forward?

Manuel DoldererGUEST
I think what worked well for us was that we actually started from scratch with a strong idea.

Manuel DoldererGUEST
And when we try to hire the first people for our team, faculty, but also first non-faculty members, team members, we always started with the idea of the university we wanted to build.

Manuel DoldererGUEST
And then we could quickly figure out if it resonated with the person that we were talking to.

Manuel DoldererGUEST
So there was some sort of self-selection, especially on faculty side, because we ended up having only people joining code that were deeply convinced about this new approach, deeply curious to figure out what it would take for them to become an integral part of it, to take on a new role and develop a new understanding of their new identity for them as not teachers anymore, but rather facilitators, mentors, coaches.

Manuel DoldererGUEST
So this self-selection process really helped us create an amazing team that didn't need lots of leadership because we had this idea that brought us together.

Because in the model that you've described, project-based learning and the way that you've organized your pedagogy, how do you assess the level of learning of students? That was the question we had from Gupta.
