Like, my family is through and through dysfunctional.

My, my mom, crazy story, okay? My parents are working at Boston City Hospital together.

My dad is an immigrant from Cuba, barely speaks English, all right? And he saw that, like, my mom would kinda come into work sometimes, like, maybe, like, you know, with heavy makeup 'cause she had a black eye or, like, she, like, he could suss out the situation that, like, maybe, like, she was in a domestically violent, you know, kind of a home.

And so my dad, okay, hides an IV pole in the men's bathroom.

Her husband, my mom's husband, would always come to the job every Friday 'cause it was payday, you know, to, to, to take her check from her.
