Absolutely.

Problem was, I remember going there and telling someone that reading recovery doesn't work.

It's a program that's obsolete, doesn't work, has never worked.

And I remember there was a teacher in the room who had dedicated her entire life to reading recovery.

So I was very acutely aware of the fact that by saying that I was actually being dismissive of someone's work of 30 years.

And it's not a very nice thing to listen to someone say that what you have been doing for the last 25, 30 years is useless.

But in my head, I was thinking, I am not going to disregard the truth for the comfort of adults.

And you're having none of that.
