How are polling places determined?
1:45
Well, it's a big question that we have to answer, and it is something that staff and the Board of Elections and Voter Registration is constantly and continually looking at, right? So after every major election cycle, we go back, we do a postmortem, we look at how things went, we look to see how was turnout? what facility did it support the voters that came out? And then we take it from there and then we make decisions and we decide if maybe that location can no longer support the amount of voters that's being sent there.
2:20
So in terms of the polling places themselves, Other considerations that have to factor in are, are they available to us? Sharon Springs Park Community Building being a perfect example, it is currently not available to us.
2:33
So we had to find another location in that area to support the voters that are assigned to vote there.
2:40
Sometimes we can find suitable facilities that are just down the road, and then other times we cannot find a location that's suitable for us.
2:48
So we are always looking for locations that can be available both the day before election day, election day, and the day after.
2:58
It is not just a one-day thing.

That's not exactly an option, right? Why is that?
