And will this be the first time there are these allegations against him?
20:13
Not at all.
20:14
I have been receiving calls upon calls.
20:18
somebody in Nsawam senior high school told me that when they started hearing the Oboazi stories, they found that it was funny because what happened in Nsawam was worse and that they pressured him and he had to leave because of these things.
20:38
And he said it's so bad in Nsawam that people outside of the school environment, that Okada drivers, taxi drivers are even aware, And he mentioned that they even brought in, they reported him to a municipal education directory.
20:57
And then also there's an organization called Orange Foundation.
21:04
They made a report.

Finance Minister Ken Oforiata wrote a letter to the Auditor General to undertake a special audit of Ghana's COVID-19 receipts and expenditure.
147:14
That audit was completed in December 2022.
147:19
One of the audit objectives as stated by the Auditor General in his report was to quote, ascertain whether the financial records fairly represent the COVID-19 fund receipts and payments.
147:31
However, the Auditor General's report failed to accurately capture the financial records of what the ministries, departments and agencies spent on COVID-19.
147:43
In that report, the Auditor General stated 96.3 million Ghana cities as the cost of COVID-19 fumigation and disinfection.
147:52
However, this investigation showed that the government spent at least 780 million Ghana cities on fumigation.

That brings you to nearly 700 and almost 800 million.

There are some people who may also be new to this, so for those who have not followed this story, give us a brief background of your investigation and your findings.
13:13
Okay.
13:13
So basically, I have been on this beat for, uh, like 14 to 15 years now, and then when the COVID-19 started and they started doing fumigation, I paid close attention to it.
13:29
So I was trying to find out how much we're spending on these things, and, um, one time, that was about 2022, I made a r- an RTI request to the Ministry for Local Government, and they told me they couldn't give me the information I requested at the time because they had given it to editors-- sorry, auditors.
13:49
And I knew that a certain COVID-19 audit was ongoing, so I was so interested in the outcome of that audit because as a journalist, they can deny you information or they wouldn't give you everything, but I knew very well that auditors would have access to it.
14:08
So when the audit was done and I took the report and looked for how much the Ministry of Local Government spent on COVID-19, and there was none, nothing.
14:22
And as far back as 2020, I got some information.

What made this one different? How different was this particular fumigation you focused on?
