I think what they're protesting about is LGBT stuff.

And I think they think the idea of a man dressing as a woman is inherently sexual and pro-LGBT.

I will say, this is an argument I use quite a lot, if you think that Mamaji is sexual... you are absolutely the problem, not me.

Whereas a pantomime dame, the assumption is the other way around, that it's for a family audience, and then can entertain just adults.

Um, but also, I don't think necessarily a pantomime dame is trying to look like a woman or do that female illusion, whereas quite often drag queens are.
