How important is it as your culture, your upbringing, where you're from? Is it important to bring that art here to the United States so the whole world can see it?

I appreciate that.

It is important to me because I think that from my... for my corner, there isn't enough truthful representation.

And it's just very easy to stamp a whole group of people and to hang on to the stereotypes and the struggles.

But it's so important for me, for people to actually realize these are human beings but wants and needs.

And there are smart people and stupid people.

Tell me a little bit about working with the director and about this cast that you got to work with.

Of course.

COVID happened, other things happened.

Then randomly in 2022, I get an email from him saying if I want to audition for the part, and I got very excited.

Now, if you want to understand what this is, I grew up in Masherim, which is a very small neighborhood in Jerusalem, ultra, ultra, ultra orthodox, probably the most orthodox you can imagine.

And this is just... exactly where my character in this movie grew up.

So if there is anything that I know really, really well, it was her life and her community.

I did the audition.

Are there things that you learned about yourself while doing this, while playing this character, maybe about a relationship with a father or a parent or something like that, that you feel like kind of made you better as a person and as an actor for the next project.

Now, how did you handle or learn to handle the no's and keep believing that the right opportunities will come for you?

You know, this is such a good question and I'm glad you asked that because I cannot tell you how many times I have a couple of auditions that I've worked so hard and it's a callback and sometimes even the chemistry read and I start imagining getting the role, even though it's a big no-no, but I'm human, I can't help it.

And then I don't get it.

And if it happens a few times in the role and I'm like, that's it, I'm quitting, I'm done.

And then I get another audition and I'm like, I got an audition.

And I think that, thank goodness that I have painting that keeps me going in between.

I also do some writing with... good people that have a lot a lot of experience so I have other ways to express my art that keeps me sane during waiting because it's a brutal industry and there's so many no's and there's so you get close so many times and The reason I am where I am is because I cannot not do it.

Now, what about this character in the story actually connects to you personally?

Mm-hmm.

She is 30 or 31 sh- which is sort of old in the community she grew up in.

She grew up in a ultra-Orthodox community in Jerushalayim, which is a very, very tight, uh, world on its own, and everyone gets married at 17, 18, 19.

If you're 21, you're really old.

She's already 30.

Her classmates are married.

They have children.
