But, I mean, Seth brings up, like, assimilation as, you know, like, an element in, in the decision, and I think there are a lot of different ways to sort of address the violence of assimilation and the ways in which it's complicit in white supremacy.

So in, you know, in, in growing up in a context where trying to make active choices to undermine white supremacy and to create more effective, less harmful solidarities, and more effective multiracial organizing, like, one way of having to sort of reckon with that complicity and reckon with what it would mean to dismantle whiteness in order to support, like, Black and brown organizing, for example, is to be like, you have to get really clear about what your lineage is.

Like, whiteness is something that subsumes what heritages are available, and for us, um, it's very, it's very easy to know, like, if you get specific around ancestors, then you can actually get specific around, like, what ancestors you're choosing and who you wanna learn from.
