Well, I'm not a neuroscientist, so I'll just caveat, but based on what I've read, um, whenever we feel these things, there's actually probably multiple things happening, um, at the same time, but I'll just cover a couple of the larger buckets.

So, um, some of that urgency and indecision, that paralysis that I talked about, that's associated with physical changes like the amygdala, these almond-shaped, um, parts of our brain, getting bigger.

And those are our fear centers, um, which makes everything panicky.

We also see some voltage changes, which we can measure by EEG, and that's like a house with faulty wiring where the electricity isn't quite working right.
