There was one time where I was doing a show in San Diego and there was a friend I had who, he drove me up.

He asked me last minute, he's like, can I open for you? And I said, yeah, like I had figured out last minute, move things around.

He was like, I'll drive.

Great, drive to San Diego.

He ends up getting so drunk that he goes to his ex-girlfriend's apartment and calls her like over a hundred times leaving her like 300 text messages.

The police get called.

I don't want to bore you guys with the details.

But that's how you found out you're pretty good at writing jokes.

Well, he didn't steal it.

I was giving him jokes.

So he would have ideas and I would tweak it or I would give him jokes that I was thinking of.

And it's so funny.

I was so unsupportive of him being a stand-up comedian.

I'm like, this is the dumbest.

Just by what? Submitting a package?

Mm-hmm.

And I've seen it.

I've seen, like, there's, like, when we, there was this one writer that when, um, we, like, they refused to use the correct pronouns for a trans woman, and then, they, they were, like, talking about, uh, they were upset 'cause there was, like, a, they wanted to do a joke about a gay person, and they couldn't.

They were like, "Well, we can't say, joke about AIDS." And they were like, "We, what are we gonna say then?" [laughs] I'm like, "There's a million other things you can say."

But-

If anything, but I think people are terrified of, of us.

Like, I, [laughs] I watched all my quartetThey were like terrified of like anyone saying... 'cause it was a kind of a, a, oh God, how do I describe it? It was a, the, just the most Republican, uh, entity possible, but it was also has a, has a collect- different collection of people.

And there are some people there that are like rednecks who have been in the industry for like 40 years-
