So besides the issue with the Blades, what was the vibe like leading up to the Olympics? Like was everyone nervous? Is it more of like a college dorm vibe while everyone's living together right before the
28:11
event? Both, yes.
28:13
It is like a college dorm.
28:15
You are in a building and you share a hallway with your teammates.
28:18
Like Team USA had their own building essentially and on our floor it was all the figure skaters so we'd open our doors and we'd see... all the other skaters on the team that we know and are friends.
28:30
But in the whole building too, you'd have like the hockey, the speed skaters, like long track, short track, everybody in the same building, which was really fun.
28:39
And it did give that kind of college dorm vibe.

34:40
And you only had like 24 hours to decide, right?
34:52
they were
34:54
Yeah, we are not that in-depth.
34:57
I wish I was more in-depth to analyze like the truth of the situation, how I feel about it, and then how I feel about how I feel about it.
35:04
That's like really unlocking like layers of yourself.
35:07
But we will analyze – like we'll just write down after training like what we liked, key takeaways, what we want to do better tomorrow, what went well, and like what we're grateful for at the bottom because – just always having that like gratitude mindset, I think really just reinforces why you're doing it.
35:26
What is the end goal? Like what's really important in life? Like at the end, it wouldn't, it didn't necessarily reflect skating.
35:33
It would be like the five things I'm grateful for.

6 MINS LATER

41:28
have plans or dreams to like grow that into a full like fashion line outside of the sport? I mean, I

they were

Yeah, we are not that in-depth.

have plans or dreams to like grow that into a full like fashion line outside of the sport? I mean, I
14:31
What's that dynamic like in training, but also in competitions when you know very well the team sitting next to you that passes you for gold and you are, you know, presumably chatting with them as these complaints come in?
14:43
I think having that day-to-day competition right there builds so much mental toughness and perseverance.
14:50
And it really just builds a lot of character as an athlete because you are on your A game.
14:56
You want to optimize everything to your training on the ice and be maximizing your recovery, which is something that we have really stepped up our game in over the last eight years, especially.
15:09
So we're so happy to... be just encouraging other people to take that step in their health because the pursuit of better health is ongoing.
15:20
And that's why I'm so happy to partner with Lilly because they also share that belief.
15:25
And I think it's so important to really prioritize that when you're doing anything, whether it's pursuing sport or just enjoying time with your family and friends, you want to optimize your health.
18:56
This is your fourth Olympics, and I'm wondering how your approach has changed physically and mentally as you've gotten older to competitions like this.
2:38
Mm-hmm.
2:38
We're constantly learning and growing and looking for new ways to improve ourselves as people and as athletes, so I think that is the greatest challenge, but also the greatest gift of being a, an athlete.
2:54
You have the opportunity to reinvent yourself as often and as frequently as, as you want, every day even.
3:01
So we're, we're just hungry for knowledge.
3:03
We stay students at the game, and that is a key to longevity.
4:12
Yeah.
4:12
There was never really a breaking point for us between the two of us, but there was a point in our careers where we weren't sure whether or not we would continue, and that was after the 2018 Olympics.
4:23
We had a really hard season.
