Pain Is a Prediction – Here's the Neuroscience
6:56

Andy FeistHOST
Is there a direct correlation between inflammation and mental health issues? Because there's got to be some link with chronic pain and obviously with that inflammation, what's occurring in the brain? Does that lead to issues with perhaps depressive states or anxious states? Is that something that occurs?
7:17
Yeah, I mean, I don't know specifically, like biologically speaking, but broadly, yes.
7:24
I mean, at least in the patients that have been coming into our lab, those with chronic pain, you can see, you can automatically see the difference.
7:37
Imagine living with pain every single day and it's such a pervasive thing that it really affects so much of your life.
7:52
So obviously it's no surprise that that can impact your general well-being.
7:59
But yeah, and also in terms of treatment, I mean, still for pain treatment, I'd say one of the reasons why my boss who set this study up and we've become really interested in this is because considering how sort of modern medicine is, There's just no real solution for people with chronic pain.
