You guys have talked about not really missing a beat in veteran locker room, dealing with not having your head coach, but has it been weird? What's it been like for you guys sort of adjusting to what Kyle's been going through and that whole process? Yeah,

I think it's good.

I think it's a good challenge in its own way.

I think everything will be fine and great in the long run, but nothing's been too different.

I feel like this organization has run very smoothly, whether Kyle's at the top or somebody else.

I think he set it up that way, so...

And really, he's been out there.

How different is it having Clay in your ear during practice, though, and just in terms of not even just the play calls, but the feedback that you get versus what you get from Kyle?

Mom was like, "Let's reevaluate."

Yeah.

No, yeah, for sure.

And I was committed, and then they offered, and there was, like, a two-week period where everyone was kinda like, "Is he gonna take this?" And Alabama, like, sometimes they're not committable offers.

Mine was, like, committable or whatever, and I ended up having to go up there and throw.

And [laughs] my dad, so my dad had this, like...

It's kind of a side story, but [laughs] my dad had this Yukon XL, uh, car, and he still has it or just got rid of it.

He's the man.

All right, what are you, what are your goals for this season?

Um, to improve, uh, focus on me, have tunnel vision, and, um, be a great teammate like I was last year, and continue to do that.

And, um, I wanna get a little faster this off-season, so working on cutting down some weight, uh, improving my speed and change of direction.

And other than that, it's a mindset for me.

Just have that good mindset.

Have you gotten any indication of, like, what and how it will change at all for you?

Um, it's been pretty much the same, honestly.

Kyle runs the show, and he got obviously Clay and Mick and everybody there.

Mac, do you have a favorite tight end? Mm-hmm.

It's a great question.

I can't give you an exact answer because all the other ones will be really pissed at me.

No, you could, though.

I think each guy brings a different thing.

Would that be of interest to you? Have they brought you any of those? I

... and play some really good ball, what was that like for you?

For sure.

I think it's just the standard that's been set in San Francisco, and it was so cool coming in OTAs, learning from everybody, learning from Christian, Trent, George, like, these guys that are gonna be Hall of Famers.

And I don't know, I just wanted to show my toughness this year and show that I'm ready to play.

Um, that's your job as a backup, and I feel like we played with a lot of juice and energy every game, but especially, you know, when I was in there trying to sling it around.

And, like, the Rams game probably was being a little dramatic.

There was definitely some injuries, but- [laughing]
