In this classic scene, and many listeners might actually be familiar with it, Lucy and her sidekick Ethel, played by Vivian Vance, get jobs in a chocolate factory, but are forced to hide the candies in their mouths and clothes because a conveyor belt starts moving at warp speed.

Her comedic action was often resisting male authority, even though the plots would continually put her back into the housewife role.

And so even though Lucy learns at the end of each episode to be contained within the home, she never really learns it.

She has amnesia.

And the premise of the sitcom is that she really wants to have her own career as a star, as a performer.
