I'm Geoffrey Riley talking to Master Gardener Lynn Kuntsman from Jackson County Master Gardeners, which reminds me, let's take this chance to talk about when the next training session is because it will begin before the next time we do one of these segments.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
So Master Gardener class for Jackson County always starts in January, and people should be able to sign up.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
You contact the extension service, and I'm not sure what the date is that people can start signing up for the class, but it's sometime in October, November, December, because they have to get a count for the class.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
And I really encourage people who want to learn more about gardening to maybe want to become a volunteer with Master Gardeners because we can always use your help in the nurseries and in the gardens that are on the grounds at Extension.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
And it's our volunteers, it's our students in that class who actually grow all the plants for Spring Garden Fair.
Why fall is an ideal time to plant Oregon natives

Geoffrey RileyHOST
Yeah, I've adopted a two-day cycle with the strawberry because beyond that, they start to turn into total dried-out hags.

I understand that for folks who can't wait for our monthly visits to get stuff together and need some advice, you have some additional help out at the Extension Center this summer?

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
It's I'm not sure which days it's open, but generally you can call out there and see if the plant clinic is open.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
But also people can go online and to oregonstatecatalog.edu, I believe that's the link for it, and they can get, there's a gardening section, and you can get information about any subject you have, any question you have about any kind of gardening.

Lynn KuntsmanGUEST
And you can download that and print it out at home, and you have the resource, or you can just download it and read it online.
