So do you want to tell us a little bit about the start of that journey and what was hard about it, what was difficult about it and what you wish was better for people with intellectual disabilities?
6:29
It was difficult because when people with intellectual disability put CVs out, it's difficult when people do not get back to you and you're just trying to keep going.
6:46
But when people do not get back to you, it's more harder to keep going because you're hoping for them to get back to you and sometimes they do not.
6:58
For me, I'd say I put 160 CV ads before my first job and I didn't get anything back until I kept putting CV ads in the same place.
7:17
And they rang me one day and they asked me if I could come in for work.
7:23
an interview I was afraid but I also was excited because this is what I've been working for for two three years fully and I got the job first when I went in to get the interview They sat me down for two hours to talk to me, and then I done two hours work experience to see if I can able to do the job.
7:58
And I think that is very good because sometimes you can talk, talk, talk, but if you do not show you can do the job, no one will know.

But, you know, there was a bit of ableism around this as well, wasn't there, that somebody was saying to you something very negative about it.
