If you had the magic wand and were able to choose what the championship looks like from 2027 moving forward, how would you like to see it evolved?
32:17
Everyone wants to see it evolve.
32:18
Everyone wants to see the game grow.
32:20
All across the world of football, there's promotion and relegation.
32:23
We want to try and get to that eventually.
32:25
What that looks like and when that can possibly be done remains to be seen.
32:29
But this is a step forward in terms of that and having another national stage, which we're seeing that will be in this Champions League format, 16 teams.
33:17
But do you think Wolves can get back to that point, assuming the
44:15
Now, not having a go at the A-League clubs, but do you feel there's a sense of real ambition in this second tier of Australian football at the moment?
44:24
Yeah, most definitely.
44:25
Look, you, you look at a lot of those clubs, there's, there's a lot, a lot of history, um, behind these clubs and, and being, you know, in the old NFL days and, and, and beyond.
44:33
Um, so there's a lot, a lot of pride, a lot of history, um, you know, that goes on for generations.
44:38
Um, you know, and we're talking about some of the ethnicity of, of these clubs and, you know, that's all part of it and multiculturalism.
44:44
Um, you know, and we saw with South Melbourne and the support that they've got and the way they're doing things, um, you know, and the level of the players, it's...
44:52
the gap has closed even more so than ever, um, in terms of the quality.
46:01
... that are helping you down there?
7:42
Now, not having a go at the A-League clubs, but do you feel there's a sense of real ambition in this second tier of Australian football at the moment?
7:51
Yeah, most definitely.
7:51
Look, you, you look at a lot of those clubs, there's, there's a lot, a lot of history, um, behind these clubs and, and being, you know, in the old NFL days and, and, and beyond.
8:00
Um, so there's a lot, a lot of pride, a lot of history, um, you know, that goes on for generations.
8:04
Um, you know, and we're talking about some of the ethnicity of, of these clubs and, you know, that's all part of it, and multiculturalism.
8:11
Um, you know, and we saw with South Melbourne and the support that they've got and the way they're doing things, um, you know, and the level of the players, it's-- the gap has closed even more so than ever, um, in terms of the quality.
8:23
So, you know, the, the, the, the best thing you can do is like South Melbourne done and, and go out and perform on the pitch and to, to get the bums on the seats and the supporters to show their, their love and their passion and support for the club.
9:17
But, like living in the modern age and the cost of everything, it ain't simple, is it, running a club? Do, do you, do you find difficulties or have you guys got good people behind the club that are helping you down there?
29:34
Are you amazed that what you have to jump through to even get a training ground down there?
29:40
I am.
29:41
I am given that it's, it's 2026 and seeing how the, the, the world, um, in football and, and some of these third world countries have grown in terms of infrastructure and opportunity for players and, and us being here in Australia, um, super fortunate.
30:01
A lot of people paying a lot of tax dollars and I'd like to see some of it reinvested into the most played game in the world, the most loved game in the world.
30:14
The participation rates down here are enormous and there's a real lack of infrastructure, which is again frustrating, especially like I said, given the times that we're in at the moment and been pushing hard to to try and get something.
30:29
I mean, I've been with my senior men's team bouncing around from Thomas Dalton Park that people may not know but it's down by the beach, a big open field.
30:36
I'm waiting for the Wollongong Wolves under 10s and 11s to finish training before we can get on a bumpy surface down there and in between there and the university.
32:37
There's got to be an even up somewhere.
5:43
Are you amazed at what you have to jump through to even get a training ground down there?

I am.

I'm fortunate with my academy.
