Has this policy of boarding vessels, fining them

Well, honestly, it's a bit of a mixed bag.

I will not downplay some of the success really is quite visible.

So the number of vessels that were flying false flags really skyrocketed in around mid 2025 when there was just a lot less attention given to flag registries, fire copying and false flags in particular.

So, you know, in June 2025, there are around 54 Shadow Fleet vessels which are running false flags.

They actually skyrocketed to about 101 in October 2025 for a peak.

And around then, that was when the first detentions really started happening with France, and then there was a large spat of more detentions after that.

But they seem to be quite quickly to have revamped and got back into exporting from there.
