Talk, talk us through that, the first significant job and, and what it actually, what it involves from the start to start to finish

Yeah.

Um, so I suppose first, first body, um, first body job that I had, um, was probably the one that sticks out the most that was involved with diving.

I'd just gotten back from New South Wales, got my qualification, uh, in that regard, and, um, got into work and got told straight away that there was a, uh, there was a potential suicide at a pla- called- place called Blackwall Reach.

I thought, "Right, well, here we go.

This is it.

Um, may as well cut my teeth on this one and get it done and dusted with." The, the dive supervisor at the time, who...

Yep

Um, did you have some, uh, people that, uh, you respected and, and taught you a lot?

[lips smack] Yeah, definitely.

Um, so and different aspects of who I would sort of look up to as well.

So I definitely had that old school sergeant that, you know, was, was Teflon, nothing could stick to him, and you just thought, "How does he get away with everything?" But he, he very much taught me, you know, like, "Don't take everything so seriously.

You've gotta have some fun at the same time, 'cause otherwise this job will take too much from you." Um, but I also, I was really lucky to have a couple of younger fellows who were a little bit older than me, but still respectively, looking back now, they were quite young.

They just had really good level heads on them and they, they didn't wanna go into things, you know, half-cocked or lazy.

They wanted to do it properly, and they were, they were young, fit fellows as well.
