um um how formative for you was your experience um after what your dad went through and your family had to live through it with your with your father right he got he was burned very very badly is my understanding right
5:29
yes sir um it ended up resulting in the entire, I guess, disintegration of his left leg, which had to be reconstructed via skin grafts.
5:38
He spent, I wanna say like three consecutive months in the hospital from April to August, maybe a little bit longer.
5:44
And then over the past 10 years or so, he's gone in for 40 plus surgeries.
5:51
constant blood transfusions once a month, really.
5:54
So, yeah, he definitely is still going through it.
5:56
And when I think of the word tough, like you said, like, oh, you embody what it means to be tough.

25:10
an easy one.
11:21
Where do you wanna go? Who do you wanna be?
11:24
That is a phenomenal question.
11:26
I think I can only speak, like, short term in regards to social media and athletic feats.
11:33
Um, obviously I wanna see how far I can pursue triathlon before potentially trying out ultramarathons or HYROXs, you know, just something down the road, because as an individual, I love the idea of being challenged by something.
11:44
And I try and live by the mantra of open to growth, so any time I share something and someone comments like, "Oh, you could be doing this better," it's never, oh, this criticism, like they're, they're trying to attack me.
11:55
It's, "Oh, cool," like, "There is something that I could be doing better." So the idea of accepting new challenges, trying new things, you know, seeing the G1M Ultra this past weekend, the last man standing, so motivating for me, and it makes me think, "Ah, maybe, you know, I could sign up for this one day." So in regards to athletic feats, and I guess social media then ties into continuing to share my journey in my training, um, both physically and emotionally and mentally with all that, but-I think long-term, I would love to go back to school.
12:22
I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience with a minor in psychology, and I was so interested, and still am extremely interested in human performance, and es- sp- specifically sports psychology.

When did you know that you would be great, and did you feel it at a young age knowing like, "Okay, I'm made for greatness and I know that I will be known one day"?
26:48
But until it's you, they don't understand how it affects you.
26:54
Well, what I try and remind myself is that you said like the thing about social media is that everyone has an opinion that they can share.
27:01
That's not just social media.
27:02
That's real life.
27:03
So anytime you meet anyone, they immediately are forming opinions or perceptions of you.
27:09
And in real life, if someone says something about you and you don't really like it, you can just choose to walk away from it.
27:16
But like it still lasts with you, like you said.
