I think people have heard of facelift surgery, but what is the deep plane? What goes into that?

So the deep plane facelift surgery has been pretty popular for about five years now.

It's a type of surgery that goes deep to the SMAS.

Now, since the 70s, since 1974, we've been doing surgery on the deeper structures of the face deep to the SMAS.

Either we placate the SMAS, we lift the SMAS a little bit and reposition it.

But the deep plane was an idea where we just go a little further and we release some ligaments and then reposition the face.

It's kind of a take on a or it's a sort of variation on a theme.
