So I'm curious how long it took you to write this script to develop that, or did a lot of this emerge during the filming through the actors?
11:46
I would say most of what you see on screen is the script, with the exception of a few ad-libs that brilliant people like Katherine Curtin added, and we just can't help but add.
11:58
Delilah and I, again, we kind of during...
12:02
The writer's strike, I don't know if you remember that back in 2023.
12:06
We were, yeah, we were kind of like sitting there thinking maybe we can take advantage of this slow time and write three short films and film them.
12:15
And like the Sine storyline was one of them.
12:17
The kicking was another one.

5 MINS LATER

17:40
So I'm curious, as your last question, I've got to ask you, because you guys have some shorts, TV movie, another feature under your belts, what did you learn about yourselves as storytellers and filmmakers making Floating Carousel that you can now take forward into your future films?
6:11
Yeah
6:11
... fix for how, like, you know, if a location falls through last minute and something.
6:15
But, um, but I'm so glad to hear you say that.
6:17
But we, we, um, I think everything's made in the edit, honestly.
6:21
Like, you know, the actors all did such a great job.
6:23
Like, like Delilah was saying, I'm, uh...
6:25
We love working with...
9:40
Was it a, was it supposed to be a funny dating movie first? Was it supposed to be a Apocalypto thing first, or was it just as you wrote it, it evolved?
1:24
So, uh, L- Lucy, uh, and Delilah, how did this movie come about?
1:34
Yeah.
1:34
So we, um, went on this date in 2021 separately, but it was with the same man, um, coincidentally within, like, four days of each other, and it was both of our first Hinge dates after the pandemic.
1:49
So, like, welcome back to dating.
1:51
And, um, and we always thought that would be a good short film, but as we started thinking about all the stories we were hearing about all these crazy dating s- you know, scenarios and, and what it was like to be young and back at it, [laughs] um, we just thought it would make a great movie, feature, feature-length project, and that's how it kinda gelled.

11 MINS LATER

13:35
How do you feel about this? Like, at the end of the day, what you have, is it as close to what you wanted as you set out to make?
13:44
Hmm.
13:46
I think every moment is different.
