Why didn't they start with explaining what the apocalypse was?
J
29:09JoeHOST
yeah or anything it just kind of started and they were just walking towards a train station and they're like well we're here for the night and it's like the only thing i can think of with that is that it took maybe the challenge started at midday and it took them so long to get organized that by the time they got moving it was night time and they were like right well we're gonna have to you're gonna have to sleep here um why didn't they also something else you know i I did some reading into it, so apparently they had three days training before they went into this and they didn't say anything about it because again, Lucy Mangan of The Guardian has done the best review of this.

She does a better job than anyone at kind of explaining the apocalypse that is the television industry at the moment.

So it's interesting, 'cause the reason that I went to watch this is I read a review of it in The Guardian by Lucy Mangan, who's a British TV critic who's pretty tough, right? And she was saying, "This is one of the best dramas I've seen in ages." And it's about a group of friends who are in their 60s.

Lucy Mangan was saying that post-Me Too, like, Hollywood discovered that women weren't boring.
J

Mm-hmm.
H

And that actually shows based around the female experience were kind of interesting, and she was like, "I wonder if now they're having a little bit of a, oh, maybe old people are also [laughs] interesting."
H
38:02Holly WainwrightHOST
It is really good.
H
38:03Holly WainwrightHOST
It's not very plotty.

It's much more, and Lucy Mangan said this too, it's very, much more character-driven.

I think we saw that coming.

So before I move on to my recommendation, can we have a quick tangent on Reckless on ITVX? Because I read Lucy Mangan's five-star review in The Guardian.
E
7:55EllieHOST
Usually, of course, she doesn't miss with her reviews.
E
7:58EllieHOST
She hailed it as a masterpiece.
