That's with the question, what are you made of?

Well, Mike, I have to tell you, I think I am a very distinct combination of the influences of both of my parents.

My mother literally had this unwavering belief that you could do anything you put your mind to.

And she would say, if not you, who? I didn't care if I was five years old doing a thing or 35 or 55 years old.

It's just this unwavering belief.

My dad, on the other hand, you know, he provided the accountability.

So it's an interesting thing because here's my mom, point blank.

How did that happen?

What was the impetus? What made you wanna start doing your show?

So I had, uh, with, my husband and I opened Window Works in '82, right? And all through the years we w- we sold direct to consumers but also to interior designers.

And I always admired the interior designers, how hard they worked, the number of details that they carry, the creativity, but literally over and over again, I would see them struggle to make money, and at that point it wasn't my job, it wasn't my business, but I could see it happening.

And then, you know, I, uh, or, and 10 years ago, 12 years ago, I'm looking for the next thing.

My husband is 15 years older than I am, so I'm 52, he's 60, whatever that is, 7, right? And we are both responsible for every sale that we make at Window Works at this point, and that sale requires you to drive there, knock on the door, and say, "Hi, I'm from Window Works." And we were just seeing the end of the road, and so I was l- but we're not, like, independently wealthy with a n- you know, everything sitting, so it was like we needed to work and wanted to work for the next 15, 20, 30 years 'cause we're both a little bit maniacal about, you know, work.

Um-But it needed to be something sustainable.
