So what's your background? How did you come to be where you are now?

yeah sure um so it's kind of it's a sort of fairly standard story and that lots of publishing and kind of lots of people in publishing have come in via my route but I I did an English literature degree and everyone sort of assumed that I was going to become a librarian or a teacher or something um but I really didn't know what I wanted to do I just knew that I love books and I I thought I'd like to work in books.

And I got a job working for Waterstones.

And for anyone that doesn't know, that's the kind of major trade retailer, a bit like Barnes & Noble in the US.

And I worked there for a year.

And that just kind of reinforced my love of books.

It was great.

What does life look like for you as a literary agent? So like just as a standard day or a standard week, what kind of things do you do as an agent?
