A player has an issue where they're i don't know they play off let's keep it nice and simple 18 and at the halfway point um for example they are three over is that the same kind of approach you take for the player who plays off five and is 10 over come nine nine holes or are they different
21:28
um I think different anyway because of the person that's in front of me.
21:36
But I think, let me make sure I've heard that right.
21:39
So if it's that 18 handicapper that's three over and maybe on for the good score, but the five handicapper is maybe thinking...
21:47
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
21:48
I'm falling to pieces and what's happening.
21:51
I think, yeah, it's so interesting because maybe what...

25:35
What makes a good routine in your estimation?
22:45
Yeah and that's probably around managing expectations and I know that was something you wanted to talk about more broadly as well for golfers probably before they get to the course but also over shots but just starting with before they get to the course what kind of things could we be working on as people that play the game and what things do you think it's not that people are necessarily doing anything wrong but there's maybe an alternative approach around how they get out there before they get to a competition or they go and play a match play game and it's a big game and all that kind of thing what kind of things do people do
23:17
yeah i think like i follow um is it lou lou stagner on social media and some of his stuff's great around like percentage of putts made from eight foot for for the tour pro for example and i'm pulling a number out of thin air but maybe that's around 50 so all of a sudden why should we be looking ahead to our round thinking that a score is guaranteed or a number of points is guaranteed when we might be seeing like the highlights of tour pros from a Thursday to a Sunday on our televisions, but there's still a lot of bad shots and, you know, mistakes that they make.
23:53
So I think just grounding ourself or sort of like putting ourselves back into reality of, you know, for your average golfer that maybe practices once a week or doesn't practice and just goes and plays.
24:05
I think actually that's a great reflection point of if I've not practiced this week and now I'm going out and playing on a Saturday morning at 7.30am and I'm driving to the course and I might hit a couple of chips and putts before I go out and play.
24:19
Why am I expecting myself to go and shoot 36 stable foot points? When I've not really done the prep or the warm-up to sort of get myself into that state for, you know, during the round and once the round sort of finishes.
24:34
And I think the reason why the expectations and managing our expectations is really important is that I've seen it so many times with clients I work with or myself or friends and playing partners that I'm golfing with of, If we're not meeting what our expectations might be by the third or fourth hole, we almost come to a bit of a fork in the road of, is this round just going to be written off and I'm almost going in that downward spiral? Or actually, am I able to take a bit of perspective, maybe readjust my goals a little bit and then...
25:08
respond in a way that's a bit more helpful as well.

7 MINS LATER

And certainly I would say it's probably where I have, I wouldn't say the majority of my stress, but if I'm going to feel tight on a shot, most times it's probably going to be a tee shot there's going to be something about that hole either it's a memory or it's a visual visual is a huge thing for me what kind of processes can people use to see your point earlier not change your thought because that isn't what we're about generally it's basically taking that thought and trying to deal with it and cope i guess is maybe the word so What kind of things would you be saying to people about just getting themselves off the tee in a better manner?
1:20
Okay.
1:20
And these digital biomarkers can consist of like, uh, gait or arm swing or neck movements.
1:27
Uh, some of the other MEMS technology that we have includes pressure sensor, a magnetometer, otherwise known as a digital compass.
1:35
The MEMS technology has been a- around as originally a military technology.
1:39
It was used for guidance systems, uh, for all types of things including rockets.
1:44
And, uh, back in two, between 2007, 2010, uh, some companies including Bosch, STMicro, uh, TDK InvenSense, developed the first, um, consumer-grade devices, uh, that eventually went into game controllers and smartphones.
2:05
Apple adopted the first, uh, gyro for smartphones.
5:54
... outside of what you are building at your company.
