I was just telling this story about a

week ago.

There was a fellow in our town named Russ Ramsey who was also the sportscaster and eventually became the general manager of the TV station and sportscast.

Well, when I was 14 years old, we finally got television in Northern Ontario.

And in those days, of course, they didn't have cameras, so the cameraman had the camera tied to his back.

And every night on Telegram of Sports, he used to have a guest.

And this one night I'm watching, and Bert Luciani, a guy that lived about a block away from me, and he's my dad's friend, and he was a cameraman there.

Yeah, and he was

Yeah, well,

the owners wanted me to play.

And I think they probably got a little pressure.

Yeah.

Because I held up all during that year.

I was practicing with them on occasion and everything.

They tried to get me to play a couple games, and I couldn't because in those days, if you were a pro, if you played one minute of pro, you weren't allowed to play in the Olympics.
