Good morning.

My name's Lorraine Hope.

I'm the project officer with ACRES West Connacht, and today myself and Trisha Deane are going to be talking to you a bit about some of the work that the ACRES CP teams are doing in relation to invasive, uh, species.

So, ACRES were the, um... is the current Agri-Climate Rural Environmental Scheme that many of the farmers in Ireland are currently enrolled in since 2023, and we work with the farmers that are in the CP approach.

Um, and those are farmers that are in the eight CP zones that are in the colored areas on the map here.

And in those areas, we have high concentrations of semi-natural habitats.

One was, uh, what herbicide can you use on gunnera? And the other one then would be, uh, can goats be used to graze the regrowth after herbicide treatment, or does the herbicide c- uh, persist in the plant tissue and cause a risk to livestock?
