I would love for you to tell us how things shifted for you and, you know, what was your health like before you decided on this journey?
1:25
My health before, I was like a totally different person.
1:28
I was repressed, depressed, had anxiety.
1:31
I didn't like who I was, and I didn't have a purpose and didn't have anything to get excited about.
1:37
So when I started studying supplements, lifestyle changes, and trying to figure out how I could just...
1:45
I don't know, I got excited about, like, coconut milk was the first thing.
1:48
Coconut milk and coconut oil and studying all of that, and it just lit a fire underneath me and I'm like, "These are things that I can practice and do." And the more I started doing that and the more I started reading, the more I just in, you know, developed, um, a pathway to absorbing more information.

31:17
What did you find on your labs that was surprising that when you started to adjust it, the weight started falling off?
3:12
I
3:12
probably lost 100 pounds over and over again because I've been on a weight loss journey since I was 12 when I had debilitating depression and I gained weight up to 200 pounds.
3:24
And the medical system couldn't do anything for me.
3:26
My mom took me to a psychologist and they said if I can't talk, they can't help me.
3:31
So she took me home.
3:32
I remember the ride home just being silent in my head.
3:36
And she put me on the Atkins diet because back then she was the Adele Davis.

28 MINS LATER

31:35
I always think there's always should be a mind and body approach to everything, in my opinion.
11:59
Could you describe what's actually happening metabolically during this stage of life? And why it is that so many women are just told, you know, this is simply normal aging?
12:11
Yeah, it's kind of some ways it can be complex and it can be simply stated that we're often not breaking down enough protein.
12:19
Protein synthesis doesn't work as efficiently after 50.
12:23
So the body just doesn't break down protein as readily with less estrogen.
12:27
The process doesn't function as well.
12:29
And then that's one of the reasons why we also put on more weight.
12:32
We're just not processing protein efficiently and we need to eat more protein.

10 MINS LATER

22:55
consider inflammatory
24:50
Do you have any recommendations?
24:52
So the way I did this, because I was addicted to all the foods, and what is interesting is I am a baker.
25:01
My grandmother was a baker.
25:03
I made everything low carb.
25:05
If I wanted to eat something and I wanted to feel good in my body, I needed to feel good in my body.
25:10
I was stuck, and I just made everything low carb.
25:17
I have a recipe book that I use.

14 MINS LATER

39:01
Can you speak to that?
DocHOST
3:58
Why, why are we getting fat?
4:01
It isn't necessarily that we're choosing that.
4:02
Nobody chooses to be overweight.
4:04
But we have an environment that is toxic to us.
4:07
So in the past, like if you look at photos from before 1950 or around 1950, nobody was overweight, overweight or fat.
4:15
And so what was different back then was that they were eating natural fats, they were eating more proteins, they were eating three meals a day.
4:21
They did not have a lot of processed food.
DocHOST
6:22
How did you go from that to finding yourself 100 pounds overweight? Tell us about that journey.
