got it now before i turn it over to mandy can you explain to us how did club ichi start what was like the first meeting to discuss it like how and when did it start
6:16
So Nicole and I have been creating these things we call spontaneous think tanks since 2017.
6:21
And these are, they're think tanks because they're intended for people to solve problems, but they're spontaneous because we don't know what problems people need to solve until they're all in the room.
6:31
So we gather people together, we use these big giant sticky notes and ask people, what problem do you want to solve while we're together? And then we ask everyone, we call it the wall of woes.
6:40
Then we ask everyone, go look at the wall of woes.
6:42
And if you see a problem you've solved, write your name on it, because now we're going to start to build the wall of wisdom.
6:48
And so all of our content is built with the haves teaching the have nots exactly how they solved that problem.

So what is something that you learned as a camp counselor that translates to your business world today?
3:16
through the PR side.
3:17
So I, you know, definitely was going to be a Christiane Amanpour news anchor reporting from the front lines, but instead got pulled into writing magazines and news things and then doing public affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was really my first foray into putting events on.
3:34
And they were just little local community events, setting up the little 10 by 10 spider pop-up booth thing and representing the Corps in front of the public.
3:41
And It kind of went from there.
3:43
My first real grown-up job after college was at a tech company here in Austin called NI.
3:48
And I was in the media relations team pitching articles for trade publications.

28:29
So do you have any advice or tips that you would say to just, hey, get out and meet people? And how valuable would you say those opportunities are? Yeah.
8:31
You just needed to
8:32
have it.
8:33
So the moment came from other moments that we had had before.
8:36
So because I had been in event industry worlds where I had gone to all the conferences and I really wanted the conferences to change and do more unconference-y types of things.
8:45
So I had experienced unconferences.
8:47
I ran some at Dell and some other companies I was at.
8:49
And so the idea of crowdsourced content and crowd-led facilitation really inspired me, and that's really what I wanted.

19 MINS LATER

27:42
And so when did you start using ROE? Yeah, so
7:30
Well,
7:30
I mean, I will say we didn't create something to be different.
7:33
That was not the intent and that's not what we tried to do.
7:36
And I don't think we're going up against any of the other communities.
7:38
I think that it's an add on to something that they're not doing that we do.
7:42
The way we do stuff is just different.
7:44
And so it should be complimentary to those things.

If they're not a member, what is in store for them?
