Yeah

... we all have different storms.

And so in 1990, '91, the economy went south, and savings and loan crisis hit, and we had two businesses in Virginia Beach and two here in Richmond, and sales were kinda going south and, and we were just kind of scrambling, getting our heads around not only learning these businesses, but making a lot of mistakes because we were, we were trying to get our head around how to run these businesses, how to learn the retail business and, and so forth.

And so, so basically kind of a, a real tipping point of what happened was as the stress built up over many, many months and a year or so, I just remembered that everything that could go wrong went wrong during that year, year and a half.

And, you know, I was internalizing the stress myself, and I don't even know if people on the outside kinda knew the stress that I was going through.

But I remember I felt like I just...

I felt like the answer then was work harder, work longer hours, get to, get to the office earlier, stay later, 'cause that's just kind of the natural instinct is just you think you're doing so many things wrong.
