How did that transpired and what you have captured in your book?
14:07
Well, I have a saying that I usually close out with, but it has always kept me going.
14:15
And that saying is rest is needed.
14:18
Always one more try.
14:20
One more day.
14:21
Always one more try.
14:23
So sometimes, my friend, I'll get to the end of the day.

If you want to, I would love to hear it.
5:46
So what, what were you serving up that, that, that, that got you, uh, noticed?
5:51
Well, I was playing by the rules according to myself, and, uh, I did make a woman cry because as far as I was concerned [laughs] she was holding back on us.
6:01
And, uh, by the time I came back that following Monday, they said my anger was above their pay grade.
6:09
Um, now this was a system That was running on old science, and I had just gotten out of a dual-diagnosis high-end inpatient rehab, and I wasn't thrilled with that.
6:23
I wasn't thrilled with how patriarchal the system was that, uh, they were running there, and I questioned it.
6:30
So it wasn't just that I played the bullshit game with too much fervor.
6:34
It was that I'd indicated I had done several of the activities already, and they were very difficult to get through the first time.

... those, those, those conversations.
7:20
So when did you realize that surviving and living are in the same thing?
7:26
About four months ago, I have a congenital blood disease that keeps me in and out of the hospital with near-death experiences, specifically pulmonary embolisms, which are blood clots in your lung, which are very dangerous and life-threatening.
7:48
And I'm a bit of a workaholic.
7:50
It's always been a coping mechanism for me.
7:53
It was easy for me.
7:54
I was good at it.
7:54
I was successful at it.

So talking about reconnecting with ourselves, are there, you know, like practical steps or should I say daily habits? want to begin to do to help us reconnect with ourselves better?
FerdinandHOST
1:24
So what led you to move from your career life of overseas figures into writing and trauma education?
1:33
Well, I've been making that segue for about six years since the pandemic hit, but I have a congenital blood disorder that keeps me in and out of the hospital with frequent near-death experiences.
1:49
And normally...
1:52
In the past, when they have happened, say I get discharged from the hospital on a Thursday, I am back to work on a Monday.
2:01
I'm a workaholic.
2:02
It has been one of my coping mechanisms for the majority of my life.
2:08
But this last time at the beginning of this year, it hit me harder because I turned 50, the big 5-0, right after I was discharged.
