What's it like out there?

Yeah.

So, so the race takes place in Kansas and this is my first time I've ever been to Kansas and it's actually quite beautiful.

It's just like this vast landscape of like green prairies and farmland.

And you can just see for, for a really long time, you can encounter crazy weather.

I mean, you cannot at any point in time, look at your weather app and predict what it's going to be like for the day in Kansas.

So for our race in particular, we got a taste of all Kansas has to offer.

And did you feel like it was kind of crowded out there or did it thin out?

Lindsay Long does outreach for Denver Public Schools.

It's, like, a way to show gratitude to people who literally wake up at 5:00 in the morning and show up day in and day out to feed the kids.

And Long also says that school meals have had a big impact on tardiness and school attendance.

There is evidence, and I've seen it with my own eyeballs, that you can get kids to come to school if you are feeding them food that is delicious and that they know exists and that they feel good about eating.
