So, Lynne, can you tell us a little bit about your latest novel, The High Island?

Yes, The High Island, that is what locals call Hoy, which is one of the biggest, bigger islands in the archipelago.

Yeah, I always fancied, I used to live in Orkney many years ago and go back regularly every year or so.

And I took Rona MacLeod there, I think five times for various deaths to be investigated.

And Erling Flett was in all those books, a DI Erling Flett.

And he actually lives in my old house in Orkney.

called Langwell, which is on the hill overlooking Scapa Flow and on to Hoy.

Do you enjoy writing that sort of tension? Does that flesh out the character for you when you've got all this stuff to work with?
