know?I think the reason why this story has, has become as big as it has, it's due to, yeah, the kind of brazen, ostentatious, outlandish behavior of the Adelsons thinking they got away with it for years, and actually they kind of do get away with it for years.

Um, but, but not through really any of their own, um, of their own skill, I would say.

I think that that sort of is a kind of unfortunate kind of legal thing that happens that ends up eking out their time and means that the hitmen and Katie are arrested much before they, they are, which is so bizarre by the way.

Like, the, the first trials which happen in 2019, which are the two hitmen, which, sorry, one of the hitmen was already in jail.

One, the other remaining hitman and the, his sort of like the mother of his children, who also dated Charlie Adelson, they, they are being tried kind of on the presumption that the Adelsons are involved, but the Adelsons are just, like, totally free at that point.

You know, they are using the evidence that has wiretaps of Charlie, wiretaps of Donna, that kind of mentions, like, the motive as to why these people did this, and, you know, talking about ways in which they were remunerated for it.

Were there, uh, were there, were there story, were there avenues that you had to cut out of this or things that you wanted to spend more time with, um, that, that we're not gonna be able to see?

What can you tell me about the parents, about them individually, and then also the children, and how did the family kind of operate from the very beginning?

Well, I think that the thing that became very clear, which comes across in the series as well, is, you know, Donna and how she's very much in charge, that, you know, Rob, Rob says it in the trial that she had, um, certain rigid ideas about the way that she wanted things to go, and if you went along with that, it was fine, and if you didn't, there was a problem.

And I think from all accounts, that's what we heard.

We heard quite a lot about when the kids were growing up, particularly Charlie, I think that Charlie was a favorite in a way, but Charlie was getting into trouble quite a lot, that she would call up teachers and get him out of the trouble.

Um, and Wendy was kind of a princess who was very high achieving, um, and, you know, could do no wrong, but didn't really do any wrong.

She was very well behaved.

And then Rob's always kind of been this sort of outsider in the family.

When you are laying out the timeline to tell the story, um, what was the most interesting part to kind of put together, almost like puzzle pieces? Was it the, the murder itself or th- when they tried to leave the airport, when the Adelsons tried to leave the airport?

Why cover this? I

mean, I'm from the UK, so we actually hadn't heard this story before.

It was a new story for us.

And what was so compelling for us was that it didn't really feel real.

There's this incredibly horrible tragedy at the center of it, the murder of Nan.

who's a celebrated law professor and father of two.

We wanted to make sure we didn't lose sight of that.

So what is it that you hope comes out of this documentary?
