It was kind of like a little puzzle, right? So The Boil, like, like with Jordan, right? It put me on my ass, and I thought, "Okay, well just slamming Glint Horn didn't work." You know, I got blue farmed when we didn't really have a blue farm main in our, like, tiny local play group.

Lily DrakeGUEST
So I'm thinking, "Oh, okay, need to learn the meta, need to figure some things out." And then slowly just kinda grinding away at locals.

Lily DrakeGUEST
Then I began to win couple more local games, and then I started top 16-ing locals.

Lily DrakeGUEST
Then I top four-ed a couple of them, right? And it was just kind of this slow evolution into, okay, you can figure this out.

Lily DrakeGUEST
It's not gonna happen all at once, you know? And then won a couple of locals, picked up Blue Farm, right? It'd just been kind of this slow trajectory into, okay, yeah, like, we can actually do this.

It's so, yeah, it's so nebulous, right? So it's like, I'm just curious, both of your takes, Lily, if you want to go first, when someone comes to you and says, hey, I don't really feel like I'm politicking very well, how do I do it better? How do you maybe work with them through that big question and make it a little bit less all spread out and all over the place?

Lily DrakeGUEST
So first, I'll ask them how they approach politicking, because I want to understand exactly where your issue is.

Lily DrakeGUEST
Is it over-politicking? Is it not politicking at the right points? Are you just not saying anything and telling your opponents to take game actions? And, you know, there are various issues with each of those things that I just mentioned.

Lily DrakeGUEST
But once I figure out kind of what box the person falls into, then I kind of go from there.

Lily DrakeGUEST
So, for the over-politickers especially, people that love to yap about every decision, I often caution that this will be off-putting to a lot of opponents.

Lily DrakeGUEST
And if you say too much when something really important needs to be said, Oftentimes, you know, your opponents are fatigued and they don't want to hear what you have to say if you've belabored a point too much.

So back to you, Lily, how do you find that coaching is, you know, valuable for people who are saying, well, I could just play more games, or I could just Google it, right, or use chat GPT, versus getting hyper specific feedback on your decisions, your deck, your games, maybe like, what do you how would you pitch the value of a coaching session from that perspective?
