I would say that, I mean, that's a testament to the freedom that you can achieve and the freedom that you can feel within the dance culture of Memphis Jookin.

Lil BuckGUEST
So Memphis Jookin is a culture and dance style that is native to the city of Memphis, which is why we call it Memphis Jookin.

Lil BuckGUEST
I believe Memphis underground rap music had some inspiration from just gangster rap music that was coming from East Coast, like from groups like NWA and, and I mean, what, from the West Coast, and then you got East Coast, Trigger Man, like all these different people that were making like gangster rap songs.

Lil BuckGUEST
The DJs in, in the South and in Memphis would like put their own take to like how they would mix those and create mixes using some of these songs or how they're inspired by some of that music and how they put their own kind of twist to it.
