if you're on site as an operator of a particular hire company's machine, you're working for them, a Lynch or Flannery's or HG Services or whoever, do you feel more of the team on site? or more of the backing of the hire company? Or do you feel more of the team if you're going on there as like an agency driver or you're directly employed by the contractor? Have you been in both situations, haven't you?

So what's the difference? I think certainly from a plant hire perspective, so when I've been in the hire game, Some of those jobs have been in and out within a couple of days, some of those jobs have been a week, some of them have been a day, I mean even half a day when I was on the old back coast working with Thames Water.

So you don't really get much of a connection, you don't really build much of a relationship with those individuals unless you're a skilled enough operator that if you go out and do a week's work down in Weybridge, That particular client or customer will phone up a few weeks later and go, we've got a project now down in Dover, we would love you to get involved in that.

So they get to know you and your skill set and then you might get the continuity and build a relationship.

But if you're just literally going in and out on plant hire, as I say, you're going here, there and everywhere, you're not really building relationships.

The only other exception to that would be is if you work on very high-profile, prestigious projects that are running for months and months and months at a time.
