What age and what was the deciding factor to go from South Dakota down to Texas?
51:07
I think, uh, like a lot of kids you hear, I, I didn't just love to rope when I was like r- real young.
51:14
Kind of right there middle school, high school, I was, I was into sports and maybe just 'cause of where I lived, like in the wintertime I was playing basketball and doing the whole deal.
51:24
Uh, and then just kind of came around to it.
51:27
I always roped, but I, I really started to love it and get good at it.
51:31
I won a couple trucks when I was like a four, so I'm sure the, the winning feeling got a little addicting.
51:37
You know, go down there and, and win a truck that's worth whatever, 60, 70,000, it's like, "Oh, this is, this is cool," you know? Uh, so when I was like a freshman, sophomore in high school, I started to kind of think I could probably be good enough to, to do something.

10 MINS LATER

61:30
Right
60:35
So were you second to last to go or what was kind of the situation? What was the arena like over there as it started pouring down rain?
60:43
Oh, in the eight-man, we were sixth out, so we had a pretty good idea.
60:47
We went to third, and I really wasn't too thrilled about it because we had Clint Summers and Luke Brown right behind us, and then me and Caleb had actually been kind of sorting the steers, and I knew they had the... two of the best steers and just Luckily, I guess it was our day to make it back Clint clip the barrier and then Luke didn't beat us But he would have if he needed to So then we got to go second in the four man and then at that point it's like man at very worst You're getting four thousand if you get a no time So you're you're trying to go as fast as you can and then Luke started out with a four or five So then definitely after that you're just gonna try to make the best run you can you got Caleb right after you on a loper and And then another great team, High Call, Garrett and Trey.
61:33
yeah just trying to make the best run you can the the arena was a little bit muddy obviously but our horses once again they didn't really they weren't phased they both worked exactly the same in the mud or if it was dry uh we actually had the same steer in the four man as we did in our second round so we knew him liked his pattern and and kind of same deal as the eight man after we went four one i really didn't expect to get by caleb on a loper he'd He'll usually come get you, but I guess Titus and it worked out pretty good.
66:01
What's it been like to, you know, have their support and, and, and that kind of thing, you know, coming from South Dakota and the Lord family.
66:10
yeah same deal i mean kind of where i'm from isn't just necessarily a hotbed of team ropers you know being up there where it's cold in the winter time and not really that many guys have made it out of there you know you look at the kids growing up in texas and i was no different when i was in high school i was it was thorpe and brady norman and all them guys down there you see winning at a young age and that's kind of where you want to be and so to kind of make it out of Out of South Dakota, and if there's kids up there that kind of know that they can make it from there, it's doable.
66:42
And super proud of where I'm from.
66:45
It's fun to go back there and see the guys you know and hear from the people.
