Did I read correctly that your mother actually knew Ted Bundy?
5:06
Oh, yes.
5:08
This is a really unbelievable story, and my mom always said it would not have worked in fiction.
5:15
Now, in the 1970s, my mom was, um, supporting the family by writing articles for detective magazines, true stories.
5:24
She wrote two or three a week.
5:26
Uh, my dad was dying of cancer, so it was up for her, up to my mom, to take care of the family, and I have no idea how she found the time to volunteer.
5:38
But a suicide hotline had just opened in Seattle, and some friends of hers had started it.

12 MINS LATER

17:45
And I want you to share one more paranormal story with us today, The Haunted Amusement Park.
12:24
Can you share that?
12:26
Sure.
12:26
Um, I went and stayed in the Hotel St. James about 20 years ago, and I went with my friend Sherry, and I was there to do research because it was a famously haunted place.
12:38
An episode about it had aired on Unsolved Mysteries.
12:42
And when we arrived at the hotel, uh, the front desk clerk put some videos into the TV, and we watched that episode, uh, along with some other episodes about the place.
12:54
And most of the stories everybody had heard, it used to be a hangout for, uh, uh, guys from the Wild West like Jesse James and Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill, and there were a lot of gun fights there, and the bar is still riddled with bullet holes in its ceiling.
13:11
So there was a lot of drama there.
16:01
You had been working in a restaurant, and you had a coworker who was tragically killed in an accident, and then you saw him as a ghost.

Liz was the star witness in the case against her boyfriend, and she showed up in a long skirt that kind of dragged on the ground, and a wig.
30:06
She was in disguise because she was wanted.
30:09
She actually had a warrant out for her arrest for the unlawful use of her roommate's car.
32:24
And Liz testified that, yes, the handwriting was indeed that of her boyfriend, Glen Herr.
32:31
Glen's attorney looked at the faces of the jurors, and as he later told reporters, "I knew it was over." Glen was sitting beside him, and Glen didn't speak up.
32:42
Glen didn't say, "No, I didn't write those letters." I don't think Glen even understood the significance of those letters.
32:49
So when he and his attorney went on a break and discussed Glen admitting to guilt, he didn't object to that.
