What's the long list of bills that come in, probably electronically these days, that you need to pay attention to and maybe split?

Lesley-Anne ScorgieGUEST
right even you know on top of utilities and the rent there's streaming services there's sometimes home association fees there can be other community fees and insurance uh you will often find in these cohabitating arrangements uh the splitting of cars and presto passes and you know there's there's more to it here so actually one of the the suggestions I have whenever I encounter this scenario, and I've actually written about this, is make the list.

Lesley-Anne ScorgieGUEST
You've got all the utilities, so your water, your hydro, your gas, all of those standard pieces, your rent, your insurance, by the way, very important and sometimes overlooked, making sure you have the right kind of tenant insurance for this cohabitating arrangement.

Lesley-Anne ScorgieGUEST
then you're making you know adding to the list streaming services and and and and and but the other piece that i'll throw out there is sometimes roommates decide to do things like split groceries yeah and how much are people eating how big is each of the rooms and you know some some folks like to actually split based on usage.

Lesley-Anne ScorgieGUEST
So if you're taking up you 65% of the space that you are absorbing 65% of the costs, you to each their own of how you want to split all of these arrangements can work, but they need to be fair, and they need to be transparent.
